Mr + Mrs McDermott

January 6, 2017

When you get the opportunity to shoot a wedding at the historic Lemp Mansion you jump for joy and wait patiently for it to happen. When it did happen I had heart eyes all day and slightly terrified that I would see a ghost all day long. I didn’t see a ghost but had a tremendous wedding day!

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Brittany: The best part of the wedding day was our first look. I was so nervous, but seeing him made me cry and smile at the same time. I also loved the first look with my dad, seeing him have the biggest smile on his face when he first saw me, was the greatest happiness.
Jacob: The best part of the wedding day was seeing Brittany for the first time in her wedding dress. She look absolutely stunning and beautiful. I am so lucky to call her my wife.

What was the funniest part of the wedding day?
Brittany: The funniest part of the wedding day was when Jacob messed up his vows because he was so nervous. Luckily, no one could hear us. HA!
Jacob: The funniest part to me was when we were pouring the sand together during the ceremony. My sand would pour out very slowly while Britt’s poured out very quickly, so she finished and I was the only one pouring.

Any advice for future couples getting married?
Brittany: My advice for future couples getting married would be to not stress about the little things, because everything will work out perfectly. Enjoy the wedding day because it goes by way too fast and it will be the best day of your life.
Jacob: My advice for future couples getting married is to take some time with your spouse and enjoy everything going on around you. There is so much going on during a reception that you may not realize that everyone is there celebrating the love you have for one another. Remember to stop and take everything in. Also, make sure your wife is happy at all times. Even if it means having to go get her donuts at 9 p.m. LOL
